West Lake Park
1200 Sheridan St, Hollywood, FL 33019
West Lake Park is one of the most unique of the Broward County parks due to its small size and is location right along a mangrove estuary. It is a three-mile strip of parkland with waterfront close to the Intracoastal Waterway. It offers more than 47k feet of water frontage along with even more interior water ways. This park is one of the largest remaining mangrove areas in the region and yet it makes a truly lovely choice among the Broward County event venues.
In fact, West Lake Park offers several spots from which to choose and features shelters capable of accommodating up to 40 guests and offering water, electricity and tables with chairs. There are also interpretive shelters that can be reserved for private use with seating and grills, but which accommodate 15 or less.
Like several other Broward County parks, this also provides space for group gatherings of 250 or more, as long as prior approval has been received and permits given. This will require renters to arrange for traffic control, setup and cleanup, as well as making deposits. However, if you have been looking for Broward County event venues of a more rustic and natural setting, West Lake Park is difficult to match.
This has policies a bit more lenient than other Broward County parks and pets, on leashes are welcome. There is a marina on the grounds and you can rent kayaks, paddleboards or canoes from the facility. There is also a .8-mile paved path for walking and strolling.
When you are on the search for alternative Broward County event venues that give a nod to the natural beauty of the region, this park is a wonderful find. Though you cannot setup huge tents, you can still host a large, self-catered event in the lovely surroundings.
